Community Guidelines
Let's keep 234Chatter a safe, respectful, and constructive space for everyone.
A Stronger Nigeria, Together.
234Chatter is a community for Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to exchange ideas, share perspectives, and have meaningful conversations about the issues that matter.
Our Principles
These principles guide our community and help make 234Chatter a valuable space for everyone.
Community Rules
To keep our discussions healthy and productive, please follow these guidelines.
Reporting Content
Every post and discussion on 234Chatter has a Report control. If you see something that breaks these guidelines, use it to send the content straight to our moderation team, along with a short note on what's wrong. You don't need an account in good standing to report something, and reporting never notifies the member you reported.
A report goes into our moderators' queue, where it's reviewed against these guidelines, not personal opinion. We can't promise every report leads to a specific outcome, but every report is read.
Enforcement
When a report or a moderator's own review confirms a violation, the response is scaled to what happened:
- A warning for a first, minor issue, so a member has a chance to correct course.
- Hiding or removing the content that breaks these guidelines.
- A temporary suspension for repeated issues, or one serious one.
- A permanent ban for severe violations, such as content that breaks the law, or for a pattern of repeated violations.
Moderators use their judgment on where a specific case falls on this scale; a single very serious violation can skip straight to a ban.
Building a Better Community
These guidelines only work because members choose to follow them. Every respectful reply, every well-sourced claim, and every report of something that shouldn't be here keeps 234Chatter a space worth coming back to.
